Vibrant Communities Calgary Board of Directors Announces Departure of Executive Director

1 April 2025

It is with mixed emotions that I announce the departure of Meaghon Reid from Vibrant Communities Calgary (VCC). After nearly six years with VCC, Meaghon is stepping into the role of inaugural Executive Director for Converge Mental Health Coalition, a national organization uniting thought leaders and changemakers to drive systemic reform, test scalable solutions, and advocate for a more integrated, accessible mental health system in Canada.
Meaghon’s contributions to VCC have been immeasurable. She has turned a small community organization into a powerhouse of policy, advocacy, community engagement, and communication on poverty reduction in our community. She has built and led a formidable team, elevating the issues of housing, food security, income supports, transit, and more into the public realm. Through her leadership, VCC has expanded its influence, reach, and impact to successfully steward Calgary’s community-owned poverty reduction strategy, Enough for All.
On behalf of the VCC Board of Directors and staff, I’d like to thank Meaghon for her leadership, commitment, and invaluable contributions to VCC, Enough for All, and Calgary. While we are sad to see her go, we will cheer her on in this exciting new chapter of her life.
Meaghon’s last day with VCC will be May 2, 2025. I hope you will join me in thanking Meaghon for her incredible contributions to our community.
Meaghon, you will be missed.
